Goldsnoop pro

Post  Steve on Sun Jan 10, 2010 2:58 pm

I have recentley bought a Goldsnoop pro, I could not afford at this stage, a minelab ect. I have been around the Vic Goldfields and found lots of junk. My problem is, I often get just one single signal and when passing the coil back over the area, I do not pick up any other signal, I am left wondering what's going on and why do I get these one-off signals. I do have faith in my Goldsnoop in finding Gold, but I have only been detecting a couple of months. Can anyone help with regards to using the Goldsnoop

hi steve,
can't help with the goldsnoop but with some coils in genaral if you bump
them you will get a signal, sometimes a bit of grass is enough to give a slight noise.
with the goldsnoop i believe they run silent until you get a signal, from what i've heard.
if that is correct then maybe sometimes if you swing too fast for the machine to keep up with the ground
you may get a bit of noise (ground noise) then when you swing back over the same spot the machine has caught back up with the ground (rebalanced) the noise will be gone.

i don't use a goldsnoop but what i've said applies to detectors in genaral.
it's a bit hard to say exactly without witnessing it actualy happening.
if you can't get a noise/signal to repeat in the same spot then move on
it will just be ground noise
but i hope this helps
cheers fencejumper
