setting for coin and relic hunting...

Post  BetaGod on Fri Aug 07, 2015 4:32 am

Hello guys, which are the best settings for finding coin and relics with gpx 4500? For reach the maximum depth and stability!

Thanks,

If the ground is mild to medium mineralisation you can try sharp or normal. They will give the best depth if the ground allows.

Grab yourself a 14x9"DD or commander 10x5"DD to start off with.

Using the GPX for a coin/relic machine would mean having to dumb it down some, given their sensitivity. A coin size target is no match for these models as you would only be looking for depths to about 12"max. Yes coins and relics can and are a little deeper out in the gold fields. But in parks, your going to need it dumbed down if thats your main area of interests.?

Stability will come from lower settings and the use of a DD coil, even in cancel mode its going to hit coins with little opposition.  When using the Sharp timing, no need to over do the gain, most of the targets your looking for are not that small if coin and relic hunting. Not my pick of timings if chasing larger targets in oz soil. If not in oz soil...disregard. Oz is not as old as some other countries when it comes to being settled, gota look at that aspect of it also.

Both the coils mentioned above will work well using the mono mode if you need to up the sensitivity without bringing on extra EMI.
