Minelab are sponsoring it, so why are they being such Tight Wads with the prizes - A GPX4500 and some GO Finds.
Why don't they they donate their latest model the GPZ7000 and a SDC2300 and help out a small gold rush town that is struggling. V36

I don't know the answer to your question.
Maybe you should ask them

All I did was put the add up, so that people that are interested in it, know about it.

Barney,
If they did then there would definitely be a small rush there just for the prizes. They don't want that, do they?
Would be good for someone like JP to attend one of these to bump up their image, but then again, your comment might be right............. lol!

I might turn up for old times sake. Wedderburn holds some great memories for me. Found nuggets there. Still have some great friends there as well. I won the treasure hunt there one year. Still have the 1/2 ounce colour that was the prize. Kept it for sentimental reasons. Might bring it up for luck.

Has anyone seen a more bulldozed goldfield than Wedderburn? Seeing something like that makes me sick and makes me think detectorist's should put some distance between themselves and miners. They are doing us no favors reaming acres and acres of good detecting ground all for the benefit of 1 person or team. IMHO.

Now hang on Slim, there's still a lot of ground undozed. If I get a chance I could show you some. It's just not on the prospecting maps.

Weather looks like it going to play a big part at the Wedderburn token hunt.

Rain Saturday and thunderstorms on Sunday. They haven't had a drop at Wedderburn for 6 weeks.  V51

Lets hope it blows over for the event which is great for the local community.  T26

Hope to see you there.
