High everyone,
Had a search for more information on this new German detector, something you might do when it's too damed hot to be out detecting. I must say it sounds a bit too good to be true, it appears to have been trialed in Victoria, see link below. If this is correct how come we are just hearing about it now, or has it just occured recently, again if it is what its cracked up to be MineLab might at last have some serious compertition. Some of the components look a little familur too, there are a lot of cables running every-which-way, could be interesting sorting them out when it comes time to swing the pick to recover a target; at any rate this subject will be very interesting to follow and see where it leads to in the longer term.
Cheers, AUoptimist.

If you do a bit more searching you'll find that they've been around for about 3 years or so. They were released into the USA well over 2 years ago and have received little more than a whimper from one of the worlds biggest detector markets. That suggests to me that it's unlikely that they are as advertised?

Not sure how you can ID between silver and gold with a PI?
Maybe when you have detected a target you could make the detector do an auto variable time delay scan of the target and the timing that produces the the strongest signal can be used as a means of rough Identifying the target metal.  scratch....Or maybe include a phase shifted vlf target signal combined with the PI timing and target signal to further enhance the TID.  scratch Q13 Q12
