Tim up at this neck of the woods, the weather forecast said it will be 33 of Saturday & 32 on Sunday. Both day will be sunny. So it is up to you if you want to detect in this type of heat.

Go out at first light, about 0620.
Come in when it starts to heat up, about 1100.
Have a nanny nap then go out from 1700 till dark.
Been doing that for a long time, works well.

A positive. Heh heh......... Tim, ask yourself, " do i like detecting in the mid 30's temps?" I was out today in central vic, ffft 2 little bits, but it was just 30 but because the breeze was so light it felt hotter. I chucked it at 1pm. The breeze/wind is expected to be very light for the next week so it will feel hotter than it will be. But, the weather crew often get it wrong and who knows. I noticed the ants today and over the past few weeks building their nests up which is a sure sign of rain. The longer the build up and its still dry the bigger the rain. The last floods we had here the ants were building up for three mths before they hit. I told people floods were coming. They laughed, we were in a semi drought. But we got floods, luckiky Carisbrook dodged the bullet. We may not and hope not any more floods in CV but they have been on the build now in Talbot, Maryborough, Avoca for the last 3 weeks. Still, ask yorself, do you like detecting in the mid 30's? You'll then have your answer mate.
