metal detecting in Queensland ?

Post  philip.j.thompson on Wed Feb 15, 2017 1:37 pm

Hi all, I was talking to a fellow from QLD yesterday who said detectors were banned in QLD fossicking areas. I know you need a license but from my understanding you can use detectors in those designated areas. Appreciate any feedback on this
regards Phil

The short answer is YES, electronic detecting is permissible, permit required.
All in the Qld. fossicking regulations.

Hi PJ, mate think you will find in QLD regs that a detector is classed as a hand tool. Cheers Dave.
