Yes if you like to be able to get the volume near where you can hear it and have volume control, I really like the Pro Sonic on the 2300. T06

G'day joensue

It has quite good volume just through the Pro Sonic receive system speaker, way more and better than just the 2300 speaker on it's own.

With this Pro Sonic system it cuts out the basic speaker on the 2300 and the sound all comes through the Pro Sonic speaker. If you want to use headphones (which I don't) it cuts the sound from the Pro Sonic speaker and send it to the headphones, alternatively you can plug a booster like the B&Z into the Pro Sonic (where the headphones go) and use the B&Z with external dual speaker system which is great.

This all give much more control over the volume and sound from the 2300 than it has as standard, a real bonus I reckon.

Sounding better (no pun) all the time Dave, was wondering what the Pro Sonic did and whether speakers could be used?
My lug holes fill with water if head phones are used, a problem left over from many years of scuba diving.

Thanks GUYS   Much appreciated.      I  myself do not use headphones at all for similar  reasons . I find that speakers give a more natural sound anyway for my hearing .I guess  it all comes down to  the individual ..CHEERS JOE Very Happy T06

G'day Joensue, far be it from me to tell you how to spend your money Very Happy but check out this wireless system from Nenad at PhaseTec

http://phasetechnical.com.au/product/deteknix-wirefree-kit/

I have no doubt the Minelab Pro Sonic system is great, but it's pretty costly..I've been using the system from PhaseTec on my SDC for over 12 months now,and it's been brilliant cheers
I'm not affiliated with PhaseTec in any way, just feel a great product deserves a plug Very Happy

Cheers..Dave

Joe,i don't own a 5000,so can't advise there, but the Deteknix kit works great with a speaker on my SDC..

I run it through a B &Z booster, and get plenty of volume control cheers

Hi Joe

The Deteknix wireless system is fine with the 5k and dual speakers. I use a B&Z booster to aid volume control.

Basically I have a harness set up with fixed cabletied wiring dual speakers plugged into the booster which is plugged into the Rx unit of the wireless system. (I also use Audio Technica ANC headphones - just swap the plugs when I want).

When I switch between GPX and SDC (which has a 1/4" headphone adapter cable permanently plugged in to it), I just swap out the little wireless Tx unit and tuck it into the side cover of whichever detector - simples!

Cheers
