A Maldon Lament

Post  Ringpull on Thu Mar 30, 2017 6:50 pm

I’m sitting here lamenting
About the days gone by
Five days I’ve been detecting
And no colour for this guy

In Maldon I’ve had to swelter
Digging many a hole
Cause the miners had tight sphincters
And didn’t leave me gold

I know that feeling Ringpull. Keep moving around, trying different spots mate....you will get a few nuggies.........you don't want to be in Yamba at the moment anyway.....it may wash away and you will have to stay in the Vic goldfields. Very Happy

Damn the gold fields, damn the track.

Damn it there and damn it back.

Damn the country, damn the weather.

Damn the gold fields altogether .

Awww I shouldn’t get frustrated. I’ve been looking for that nugget with my name on it but I found out today that it’s already been found, trouble is they misspelt my name and called it ‘Welcome Stranger’

All’s well in Yamba thanks Tributer, the second mate is manning the bilge pump and the house is still afloat.

Here I stand again in a the parched outback alone
The search goes on for the elusive stone

I wander here , I circle there
I seek to find my own fair share

Over a hill and towards another blow
Down deeper in another burning gully I go

My legs they ache,my arms grow weak
I pray all day for a paying streak

At last a sound so sweet to my ear
the telltale sound of my electronic gear

I dig for my life, like a man possessed
and dream of how I will soon be blessed

My delight turned to tears I barely hold within
Cursed again by some fucking tin

Back to the camp, deflated like a pierced balloon
I console myself that I'll find it soon

My temperature lowered by the application of beer
I remind myself of my happy life
Of my family and my good and loving wife

Soon all my thoughts are once again clear
And even though I continue the search.... I know I am already here  Wink

Wayne. cheers
