May not be the fanciest TC I have seen but they sure are the biggest sparks.
Put a motion triggered one of those in the back yard and I wouldn't have to worry about dead heads snooping around the house at night any more hey!!

I fired up a 2 million volt coil in my garage. That was in 2004 and my neighbors have still not forgiven me.
All their televisions went bonkers (the signal was scrambled) and the noise left anyone within 200 feet quite deaf for a few minutes.

Had similar result just from firing up a 100,000 volt Tesla probe (I used to use one to test gasses insider the plasma spheres).  My wife was furious with the amount of noise it made.  That's why I used to make Plasma Balls.  So much quieter. Even the larger 34Kv versions.

The downside of using a Tesla Coil inside a gas discharge globe (like a Plasma Ball) is that certain pressures with Xenon/Argon gas mixtures at higher voltages can produce soft X-Rays as the electrons are ripped from their gas atoms (which is VERY bad for you).

Yeah Jen. I reckon a couple of smaller TCs either side of the drive way disguised as car port uprights would stop most hoods from getting into the yard. Twisted Evil

Yeah nero. I recall you mentioned your plasma spheres some time ago.

I still have my 500,000 volt job in the shed although it is buried under junk so well I can no longer see it. Rolling Eyes
Am putting a 100,000 volt job together for a friend but it is playing funny buggers with me at the moment by arcing inside the coil former and shorting between turns.
But will get it sorted soon. The primary coupling is a bit close to the sec.

Must admit, I am getting the urge to build a biggun.
