if you were good with your 5 then you will be good with your seven....rubbish operators will be rubbish with both!!
I find that when I swing the 7 for a week or so and then go back to the 45/5 it feels "dead".....the 7 is an amazing machine...best of luck with it.

Been out 4 times with the 7000 and have found 3 bits for 0.76g Smile ok it`s a start..and i found i liked the target responses.I have already got it running well and like being able to test targets responses with other settings with ease Smile I have the latest software update also...I will just concentrate on what the Z teaches me with every target retrieved...depth / target size / and audio response...I know we are going to get along just fine Very Happy

ATB out there to you too goldtalkleonora.

HE'S DREAMING **** TAKE TWO ****

Post  Eureka Dreams on Tue Mar 20, 2018 7:51 pm

Ok I've had the GPZ 7000 since July 2017 and only yesterday reached my first ounce with it...yes its taken a bit longer this time, and i have lots of micro nuggets with the largest being 3 grams..There`s three or four bits over the 1 gram mark, but the bulk of it is below that..

I have dug very deep junk..and a lot of it,so i know this detector punches deep..I just have not gotten over deep gold...yet Smile
I am very happy with what this detector is doing for me,and i know i made the best choice in upgrading from my also excellent GPX 5000..I have compared the 7000 on an undug target with the 5000 where the 5000 didn't hear it..I was digging a whisper of a target and had 3 or 4 inches scraped off, when a 5000 operator with a nugget finder 17x13 Evolution coil attached had a swing over the scrape..They could barely make out a signal, and said they doubt they would have pulled up on that before i had scraped it..

I eventually dug down 2ft to a bit of rusted iron...so i know it punches deep because as i said that i have dug many deep junk targets with it..I have been using the 14 inch coil with it..
Well as i said i`m happy with this detector, and even though most of my finds have been small gold,i know that bigger gold will turn up if i can get over it....I like the GPZ 7000 Very Happy

Well done Bill, it's not getting any more plentiful thats for sure, but at least you still getting out and finding some, I've had my 7000 since the day they came out and it's done pretty good, but we have done the vast majority of detecting in WA like about 5 months of the year at a time, but hey it's all good.

HE'S DREAMING **** TAKE TWO ****

Post  Eureka Dreams on Tue Mar 20, 2018 11:41 pm

Thanks dave,i`ve never detected the West but here in the Golden Triangle ever since i started i would hear this statement ... (Gold,it`s getting harder to find) i still hear it said often today...but it is still there to be found...Yes i`m still keen and find much enjoyment in finding gold..The quiet signals always get me excited, and on old patches revisited i still find more..

But as always you need to know your machine, and learn to get the best out of it...Yes it`s all good, and i consider myself very lucky that i still can participate in and enjoy this great hobby of ours..

Good hunting out there..

Cheers Bill
