Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Wayne & Bill, on the GPZ 7000, I thought the weight may be too much for me but I have coped quite well with the aid of the hipstick.  JP also set me up with a Camelback with a booster and I find the Camelback pretty comfortable with the benefit of having 3L of water on board.

Clermont required a lot of walking, hills & gullies, and I like to find new areas (not just the tried and true well mined areas) and I found a rest stop every couple of hours and a stop for lunch were a must.

What I feel about the GPZ -  I love just having the one coil and feeling 'confident' in its ability to find all size nuggets.  Travelling in a caravan permanently, there is not so much gear to take with you and choosing the best coils to take with the GPX 5000 is a thing of the past.  I can lock it up in secure drawers in the back of the vehicle.  I don't have the larger coil and don't know for sure if I would even buy one.

I felt like a lot of things I've learned in the last 5 years just seemed to "gell" this season and I had a 'nose' where to look. Last year I was in WA and felt a bit 'lost' over there. Hard to explain.  Other prospectors were also good to chat to and run things past.  I also was detecting with a friend, Jim, who detected a 41.3 gram nugget down 500 cm with his GPZ and I watched him dig it out.  What a buzz!!

Very nice nuggies and species there Anniel. T06 Congrats to you and congrats to your friend Jim as well for his nice find. I know what you mean about the Zed one coil/size/depth of gold you find with it, I just can't go back to the 5000. T25 Thanks for sharing your finds/pics.

Cheers.

Mike.

Hi Annie, nice nugget for Jim T06  I hear what your saying, it is good to hear you feel you have turned a corner in your detecting, I think most of us get that feeling at some time, its a sweet feeling, I think they call it self confidence Wink  I am sure you have earned it, good luck for the future.

Wayne. cheers
