Even better surprise.

Post  Axtyr on Tue Sep 12, 2017 6:02 pm

G'day everyone.

Only one small specimen which yielded 2 big bits and 3 smaller bits (not shown). 0.14 gram all up.

Found the bird's nest again today and there was quite a change.

Enjoy.

I was surprised they had hatched so soon within a 5 days and their size. I was a bit worried when I returned that nest had been destroyed as it looked like someone had raked an area close to their shrub.

On Tuesday, weather permitting, I will be back out and I will take the telephoto lens and hopefully get a picture of mum as well. It is a yellow honeyeater.

While I was sitting under a tree with the noise of the wireless module blaring away a fox ran past me. It didn't even seem to acknowledge that I was there even though it couldn't have missed the noise unless it was deaf. It might have been some power workers on the road that scared him.

Regards Axtyr.
