SD2000 vs X Terra 705
Gday all,
I am new to the world of gold detecting. I would like to have a crack at finding a nugget or two, I spend a fair bit of time in western NSW and I would love to have a detector on hand when I head out.
I dont want to spend more than around $1300 and I dont mind buying second hand but I do need a detector that will make sense in heavy ironstrone. From my research the SD2000 or the X terra 705 might me my best option. Happy to hear otherwise.
Key things that I need from a detector.
Cost under $1300
Easy to use
Will work well in ironstone
Cheers.

Hi James
For $1300 you might get a SD2100,a very capable machine.

If you are prepared to wait after XMass, i think you will be able to land a GP Extreme for ~1500.
And it is a way better machine on gold than the xterrra or the SD.
Good luck!

Hi James
If you can afford it the Sd2200d is I believe the best value for money entry level detector in Oz.For newbies having auto groundbalancing is a bonus.I think coiltek price with warrranty is $1700.More than you want to pay.But this price should stay constant until the next machine comes out in possibly 18months time.
Cheers Dig
Ebay price guide,The last 2 sd2200d's sold for $1400 and $1550 respectively
