Simple but clever lighting idea

Post  madtuna on Fri Dec 03, 2010 5:30 pm

Many of us night detect and I always place a light ontop of my ute or camper just to keep my barings. Where I put it is governed by the length of the lead to my battery.

Was camped out near a lovely couple the other weekend and they had some cheap and nasty solar lights she bought for $4.00 each lighting the boundary of thier camp site and the path to the loo.

Cheap as chips, no leads, no battery usage and can be placed anywhere.

Clever idea me thinks...will hop on the forum and tell everyone I came up with it Very Happy

Gday

Those solar garden lights are good for marking tracks and turns for your return to camp at night, if you want to go into town or are going out of camp by vehicle or whatever to detect and might be returning after dark they are just the thing.

Placed on track intersections and turns etc on your way out of camp during the day, they are there for you if you come back to camp in the dark, having done this sort of thing before, a lot of tracks look the same at night and wrong turns and having to back around in the bush usually results in staked tyres etc.

Even having a gps doesnt make it any easier sometimes in the dark but you cant miss the solar lights.

cheers
